This graffiti is on the side of the Affleck's Palace building on a garage door so it gave the original photo lines all the way through which I thought suited the type of text. On the right photo I went for an opposite effect to what Faile uses because he normally makes the main part of the photo colour and the rest black and white where as I thought it worked better to make the main part of the photo black and white and leave the colour in the background.
These photos show progress from my original photo to different colours shapes and sizes being used, the original photo is from a book and shows the text getting smaller. These photos are inspired by Ed Fella and Jeffery Keedy's work because they both text in an interesting way, with different sizes. I have also cropped the original photo, brightened the photos and added colour. I added a red tint to one of the photos because all three artists I am focusing on use a lot of red in their designs.
I took this photo on a street in New York and I decided to use it because I was able to make the importance of 'Fifth Ave' noticed in a way that included Ed Fella's work by mixing black text with colour, but it also includes Faile's work because he makes the important things in his work be the thing people look at first, mainly by using colour.
I found this sign on a side street in Manchester and it caught my eye because the red represents Keedy's work so I changed the colour which added a red tint, but on the top right photo I tried not to make the red tint as obvious as I showed on the bottom left image. On the bottom right image I took Ed Fella's work into consideration by using black and white but then making a certain part of the image coloured. I used red to stick with Keedy's idea of red, black and white images.
I found this image in Affleck's palace on the wall. It was in the middle of a collage and the original photo is inspired by Faile's work because of the plain, black and white image but I then added red which was inspired by Jeffery Keedy's work.
I found this design inside Affleck's Palace on a wall going up the stairs and I decided to use it because even thought it isn't text it still allowed me to create a photo which was also inspired by Jeffry Keedy by using the reds. On the bottom photo I change the brightness and contrast so it went more plain black and white where as with the top photos the lighting created a red tint so I kept that and just added colour to some of the main features in the image.
I found this photo inside of the Affleck's Palace building and for this design I decided to focus on ideas from Jeffry Keedy, which was using red, black and white. For the top right photo I kept with the red theme but went for a lighter approach so used a light pink to outline the text and kept everything else black and white. I used the same approach on the bottom left photo but I made the shade of red bright and cropped the original photo so the image focused on the smaller images at the bottom. The bottom right photo was just the original but with a tint of a light red shade.
I took this photo at the side of Starbucks in Manchester and I decided to use it because it reminds me of Ed Fella's work how there were lots of different colours but we can still see the main focus, which in this case has been done by using a brighter yellow colour. On the top right photo all I did was crop the original photo and brighten the yellow colour, on the bottom left photo I also cropped it from the original but I added a red tint which is the main colour Jeffry Keedy uses. But on the bottom right picture I decided to make the yellow even bolder so to do this I made the rest of the photo black and white, Faile does his work in a similar way to this.
I found this photo on a wall outside a shop in Manchester and with this image I decided to keep to the black and white theme, which all three of my artist references use but I liked the outline of the image so I made that part of the image more noticeable. On the original photo all I did to it was brighten it which made the blue and orange colours stand out more.
This picture was taken on Black pool pier and the original photo was dim lighting so I turned the brightness up ad decided to change the colour from blue to red, which is what Jeffry Keedy does.
