I took this photo in the Trafford Centre through a window called All Saints. I like this photo because in the shop window there was just rows of vintage sewing machines with wire in a cross pattern infront. In this picture I also tried to capture the reflection of people walking past because it shows the journey of everyday people. Lee Friedlander does pictures like this, where he gets the reflection in shop windows and busy areas.

I took this photo at the Trafford Centre through a shop window and I like it because it focuses on the one persons journey. All I did to this photo was brighten it and edit into a black and white effect which I took from Lee Friedlander's work.
I like this photo because even though it is similar to the photo above, it focuses more on the reflection of the actual person rather than the reflection in the window, but there is still a reflection shown in the shop window. The colours on this photo are inspired Alan Leatherbarrow's work. I took this photo in the side window of the football museum in manchester. I like it because it shows the journey of one person instead of lots of different people and the story behind the photo could represent the person in the photo surrounded by buildings but feels lost. I took this idea from Lee Friedlander's work and experimented with the black and white filter. |
This photo was taken at the side of the football museum in manchester. In this photo I tried to capture the journeys of everyday people but I didnt want them to stand out, I wanted to make the viewer look into the photo and create their own storys for each person. I took inspiration from Alan Leatherbarrow's work and Barry Toranto's work to create this photo.
I took this photo in a glass building in the middle of a busy street full of shops. The original photo was quite dull and nothing really stood out but as soon as I took inspiration from Barry Toranto and added bright colours which made parts of the photo stand out and helps the person looking at the photo understand a bit more and allows them to use their imagination to create storys for each person. |
I took this photo in Manchester outside the shop All Saints. I like this photo because even though there are not that many people it shows three possible stories. This photo is inspired by Alan Leatherbarrow's work with the reflections of buildings and trees in buildings and it is also inspired by Lee Friedlander's work by putting the photo in black ad white.
This photo was taken in Manchester, it shows the journey of a lot of different people and I think this photo works in black and white. |
I took this photo in the reflection of a building which was taken from Alan Leatherbarrow's work. The top two photos show the original and the original brightened up so the photo is clearer. The bottom left photo is inspired by Barry Toranto's work which is vibrant and the colours really pop where as the bottom right photo is inspired by Lee Friedlander who works in black ad white. This photo shows a journey in the people in the photo and their personal journeys.

I took this photo through a mirrored building to capture the journey of people behind me in the reflection. I made the photo black and white but wanted to do something different so kept the photographer in colour, this idea was inspired by Lee Friedlander. I also wanted to brighten the background which allowed the building to stand out more and added bright colours to the photo which was inspired by Barry Toranto.
