This photo was taken at my school. Originally I took four different photos with birds flying different directions so I decided to edit each bird into one picture to create this image. Peter Bendall looks at reflections within nature so that's where I got the idea to focus on birds.
I also took this photo in my school through a small puddle. The original photo is on the top left, so I haven't done anything to that one. The top and bottom right photos I edited into black and white but on the top one I increased the contrast to make the black parts stand out more. On the bottom left photo I turned the brightness down because I wanted to create a darker look but the leaves are still quite bright. For my inspiration I looked at Peter Bendall's work.
This is a photo of the imperial war museum and as you can see from the photo on the left I took it at night so it looked quite dim and dark, but I wanted a bright photo so I turned the brightness up and changed some of the colours to make the photo bright and bold. My inspiration for this was David Gutierrez's work.
For this photo I was looking at the shadows part so I visited the Jumbles on a sunny day and because of the amount of trees surrounding the footpath I was able to take this photo. The top photo is the original photo and the bottom photo has just bee put into a black and white effect. This photograph wasn't inspired by one certain artist, to get inspiration for this I looked at shadows of nature and collected a range of photos, and a number of the photos I found were done in black and white.
I took this photo at media city and my aim was to capture the colour of the bridge but also capture the reflection of the imperial war museum in the background. For this photo I wanted it in black and white but I really liked the colour in the water so I kept that reflection purple but made the rest of the photo black and white. My inspiration for this photo was David Gutierrez.
This photo was taken at school on a rainy day and originally I didn't like the photo in colour because I didn't think the reflection of the bench was obvious enough so to change that I put the image in black and white which made the reflection more noticeable. Also with the original photo it had a lot of unnecessary background so I cropped that out. My inspiration for this was Peter Bendall because even though he normally take pictures through puddles I liked the way he went outside and took photos of what was originally (like buildings) there as well as nature.
This photo was taken at media city with the imperial war museum in the background. I liked the reflection of the bridge and how it got the reflection of the museum I the background because without it I think the photo would look plain and like something was missing. I changed the photo to black and white ad it was inspired by David Gutierrez.
This photo was also taken at media city, it is the Coronation Street studios. The original photo had the actual building as well as the reflection but for this photo I just wanted to show the reflection so I cropped it out and also turned the brightness and contrast up to make the reflection clearer. This photo is inspired by David Gutierrez.
I took this photo at Media City and originally I put the photo in black and white but I didn't like it and wanted to do something different so I decided to just make the reflection black and white then the other way around so just the refection was in colour.
This photo was taken in the jumbles on a sunny day which created the shadows. Originally the photo was bright but for this photo I wanted the audience to get a creepy feel because woods are known to be dark and scary. To do this I turned the contrast of the photo up but left the brightness as it was and it created this effect which defined the shadows and made them dark.
I took this photo at media city and it is a photo of the blue peter gardens. The photo has a tint of red in it because I wanted to make the photo a bit more unique. It is inspired by David Gutierrez.
This photo was taken in the jumbles and originally I wanted to capture the reflection of the tree, but I like the way the sun takes over the picture. This photo was inspired by Peter Bendall.
This picture was taken at school. I like it because it shows the contrast between nature (the coloured leaves) and the reflection of the trees and buildings.
I took this photo through a puddle on the street with a tree near by. I like this photo because the audience can see that the focus point is the reflection of the trees but there is still detail around the photo. This photo was inspired by Peter Bendall's work because I like the way he looks at nature through puddles, which is also a nature feature.
In these photographs below I have experimented with using black and white to show a variets of different skils I am able to use and I think the blackand white effect adds a darker vibe to the photo which changes the way somebody looks at the photograph overall.
